International Student Orientation is set for Jan. 4-11 at Ohio University.
Students arrive Jan. 4-5, then participate in a variety of activities during the week. Here’s the line-up
Monday, Jan. 6 — Check in, 9:30-10 a.m. Combo Room Lounge, Baker; ISO welcome, 10 a.m.; Living in Athens, 11-12:30 a.m.; Lunch, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Baker; TOEFL orientation, 4-5 p.m., Gordy; 4:30-7 p.m., State Street Shopping.
Tuesday, Jan. 7 – TOEFL Test, 1 a.m.-noon, Gordy; Paperwork check-ins, 1-2:30 p.m., Baker; Campus Selfie Tour, 4-5:30 p.m., Baker.
Wednesday, Jan. 8 – Mandatory Information Sessions, Baker, 8:15 a.m.-1 p.m.; International Student Union Lunch, Combo Room, Baker, 1:15-2:15 p.m.; 10 Tools for IS Success, Baker, 2:30-3:30 p.m.; Library Tour, 3:45-5:15 p.m. , Alden.
Thursday, Jan. 9 – TOEFL Test Results, 1-2 p.m., Gordy; English Placement Test, 3-4:30 p.m., Gordy; Bowling Night, 5:30-8p.m., Baker.
Friday, Jan. 10—Bobcat Student Orientation, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Donkey Coffee Social, 5:30-7 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 11 – Athens Farmers Market, 9:45 a.m.-noon, Baker; Ice Skating, 1:30-3 p.m., Baker.
International students are advised to bring warm clothes for the spring semester as January in Athens can be very cold. Also, if you’re living in Ohio University rental housing, remember you’ll need to add blankets and warm comforters to your list of move-in essentials.
