Fall semester is in full gear, and you’re well settled into your Athens apartment. So settled, in fact, that you might be itching with cabin fever. Get out of Athens, escape campus, and head to one of the best community events in the state. It’s time to get your Paw Paw on!
Pawpaw Ice Cream, Chili, Beer and More!
The 19th Ohio Pawpaw Festival kicks off Sept. 15-17, 2017! That’s three days to celebrate George Washington’s favorite fruit, chilled Pawpaw. And if he ever time traveled to the Paw Paw Fest, his favorite brew would definitely be chilled Pawpaw beer, served up icy cold from the keg. There are also plenty of other local and regional brews served up by a host of breweries including Marietta Brewing, Weasel Boy Brewing, and Devil’s Kettle. Local bands, local artists, and local food balance out the palate all weekend long.
Day passes are available for $15, weekend passes for $30. If you’re sick of that one bedroom Athens apartment or plan on hitting that Paw Paw beer, Lake Snowden has unlimited camping with a special area reserved for families.
