OU students may be living the small-town life in their Athens Ohio rental homes, apartments and dorms but there’s no reason you can’t get a taste for the world’s varied cultures as part of your university experience. Opportunities for future leaders, both domestic and foreign, to meet and exchange ideas about culture and heritage are available throughout the year, such as International Education Week, set for Nov. 17-23.
Designed to help Americans become attuned to a global environment, and to attract the world’s future leaders from abroad as exchange students in the United States, this event is organized by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and represents an initiative by the U.S Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State.
If you’re interested in preparing for the challenges that lie ahead for tomorrow’s world leaders, come get acquainted with other like-minded students, faculty and community members by celebrating culture and heritage. Key events include a photo contest, keynote address and awards gala.
