One of the best things about being able to walk or ride a bike from rentals close to OU is all the free stuff you can partake of if you live nearby. For instance there’s the next “Under the Elms Summer Concert Series” scheduled for Wednesday, June 12: “Raise the Curtain: Music from Stage and Screen” at 7 p.m. on the College Green, next to Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium. Sponsored by OU and the College of Fine Arts, the series is open to the public.
Bring your blanket, lawn chair, and have a picnic right there under the elms. There’ll be similar concerts throughout June and into early July.
Living close to the campus offers student renters optimum opportunities to partake of campus and community events. No need to have a car; you’ll stay in shape and clear your mind by walking or biking. Plus, you’ll be close to your classes and all the services the university offers, including medical, psychological and counseling, and academic advancement.
